The 17th Iranian Film Festival continues this Thursday through Sunday with short films about the urban experience in Iran’s capital. The Museum of Fine Arts Houston also hosted the event last weekend. Additional films will screen Feb. 5 to 7 at Rice Cinema.

Iran’s capital is the setting for three films about the urban experience. My City, Pizza (directed by Ala Mohseni; 26 min.) examines the popularity of eating pizza in Tehran; Behind the Wheel of Life (directed by Sahar Salahshour; 26 min.) depicts the life of Nasrin, a woman driver in a traditionally male profession; Of Men and Motorcycles (directed by Shahriar Siami Shal; 26 min.) observes Tehran’s traffic congestion and the proliferation of unemployed men working as drivers and messengers.
