Police Catch Home Burglars In The Act

Home burglars hit five houses in Bellaire last week — In one case, police caught two suspects in the act and charged them with the crime.

Bellaire police responded to the 5300 block of Pocahontas Street on Jan. 26 after receiving calls about suspicious activities. Two men were taking home appliances from an unoccupied house. Police investigated and found that the suspects had burglarized the property. Noel Casique, 23, and Adolfo Trevino, 22, were both arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation.

Police are investigating reports of four other home burglaries that happened from Jan. 24 to Feb. 1.

  • On Jan. 25, police responded to the 4600 block of Maple Street because someone broke in through the back door and stole the owner’s property.
  • On Jan. 26, police investigated a home burglary in the 900 block of Wildwood. The suspect entered through an unlocked window and stole the resident’s property.
  • On Jan. 30, police responded to the 4400 block of Betty Street because a suspect kicked in the door of a home and stole several items.
  • On Jan. 31, a resident called police to the 100 block of Cherrywood because someone forced entry into a home.

Other incidents that happened last week include:

  • A Bellaire officer arrested and charged a 48-year-old man with driving while intoxicated on Jan. 24. The driver also had a suspended driver’s license.
  • On Jan. 30, police arrested another driver for driving while intoxicated in the 4000 block of Loop 610 East. The driver also had outstanding warrants.
  • On Jan. 26, a woman visited the Bellaire Police Station to report she was the victim of a theft. The police valued the theft between $20,000 to $100,000.
  • On Jan. 26, Bellaire police arrested a 33-year-old man and charged him with evading arrest. The man had run from police who were trying to track him down.
