Bellaire police arrested two men last week who they found driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The first arrest came on Feb. 11 around 2:50 a.m., when an officer saw a vehicle making multiple traffic violations. When the officer pulled the car over, the driver smelled like booze, had slurred speech and couldn’t follow commands.
A breath test showed he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.211, although the legal limit is 0.80. During the traffic stop, the officer found two baggies of cocaine. Police arrested Oscar Caballero, 39, and charged him with possession of a controlled substance and his second driving while intoxicated charge.
Officers also arrested 24-year-old Marcus Williams for having drugs and driving under the influence. On Feb. 13 around 3 a.m., an officer saw him slumped over in his car at a traffic light. When the officer approached the car, he allegedly saw Williams try to hide a bag of marijuana. Williams was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of a drug.
