Police Arrest Bellaire H.S. Student For Having Pot

Police arrested a Bellaire High School student last week after finding the teenager brought marijuana to school.

An officer with the Houston Independent School District discovered the pot on Feb. 18 and called Bellaire Police to arrest the juvenile. The boy now faces charges of possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone.

Earlier in the week on Feb. 16, police visited the school when a female student reported that someone had stolen a wallet and iPod from her purse while it was in the locker room.

Also on Feb. 16, police responded to the 4800 block of Willow Street after a resident reported that someone had stolen a vehicle from the home overnight. Police are investigating the crime and searching for the 2003 white Honda Pilot.

Residents also reported four home burglaries during the week of Feb. 15 to 22.

  • On Feb. 15, police responded to a home burglary in the 4900 block of Imperial Street. The resident reported that between 3:30 to 4 a.m., someone broke the front window of the home and stole a computer.
  • On Feb. 16, a resident in the 500 block of Winslow Street reported to police that someone stole plywood building materials from the home.
  • On Feb. 20 in the 4500 block of Oleander Street, a resident reported that someone pried the front door open and stole a laptop computer.
  • On Feb. 21, police responded to the 5200 block of Holly Street after a resident reported that someone broke a rear window and entered her home.
