Bellaire’s Community National Bank Names New Chairman

Community National Bank at Bellaire Boulevard and South Rice Avenue recently announced the appointment of a new chairman of the board. James Woodall, Jr. also will serve as an executive officer of the locally owned and operated bank.

Woodall has served in leadership positions at community banks since 1992. He worked at Dayton State Bank in Dayton, Texas from 1992 to 2001, and from 2001 to 2009 Woodall worked at Legend Bank in Bowie, Texas. Before that, Woodall supervised problem banks for the Texas Department of Banking.

Woodall earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a minor in business administration from Sam Houston State University and attended the National Commercial Lending School and its graduate School at the University of Oklahoma.

“For most of my career I’ve always been involved with community banks and feel they are the future of banking in the U.S.,” said Woodall, who started his banking career in Houston at First City National Bank in 1972. “My goal is to grow this bank and provide an adequate return for the shareholders for their confidence in investing in the bank.”
