A hit-and-run driver may have thought he got away with rear ending a woman in Bellaire last week, but police tracked him down the same day and arrested him.
Timothy Viser, 31, now faces charges of failure to stop and give information. Viser is accused of rear ending another car in the 5000 block of Bissonnet Street, and fleeing the scene of the accident.
But a witness gave Bellaire police the license plate number of the car, and police tracked down the registered owner and visited her home. Officers noticed that the woman’s boyfriend matched the description of the suspect in the hit-and-run accident.
When the victim in the accident positively identified the vehicle and Viser as the driver, police arrested him and charged him with the crime.
