It’s a Party for the Planet on April 24 and 25 during Waste Management Earth Day at the Houston Zoo, 6200 Hermann Park Drive.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day the Zoo will have entertainment with a “green theme.” Learn what you can do to conserve our natural resources and preserve the world’s wild places for future generations.
Enjoy fun and informative Meet the Keeper Talks – sponsored by Target – featuring information about animal conservation and intriguing animal enrichment activities.
Test your speed and recycling skill when you compete in the Recycling Relay Race, make environmentally-smart choices to find your way to the end of the Mother Earth Maze, join in the fun with our giant re-usable coloring mural, and start your own Nature Journal to get in touch with the natural world that’s in your own backyard.
Guests who bring in a recyclable can during the Waste Management Earth Day event will receive $1 off Zoo admission. Receive $1 off per person, per can. Maximum discount $6 per family/per group.
Set in a 55-acre lush tropical landscape, the Zoo is home to more than 4,500 exotic animals representing more than 800 species. Operated by the not-for-profit Houston Zoo, Inc., the Houston Zoo is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species, the provision of engaging educational opportunities and the creation of stimulating exhibits that broaden the experiences of our guests and encourage their curiosity.
