Bellaire Police Investigate Numerous Reports Of Identity Theft

These incidents of identity theft are under investigation with the Bellaire Police Department:

On Aug. 9, an unknown person obtained a resident’s personal information for credit and services.

On Aug. 9, a resident’s electric company notified her of a potential identity theft.

On Aug. 10, an unknown person used a resident’s identifying information to pass a forged check.

On Aug. 11, an unknown person used a resident’s debit card at HEB, 5130 Cedar and Randall’s, 5130 Bellaire.

On Aug. 16, a resident’s checking account information was used by an unknown person to forge checks.

On Aug. 16, an unknown person used a resident’s identifying information to open a credit card account.

These incidents of theft are under investigation:

On Aug. 9, a laptop was stolen from the office of Crosspoint Church, 4601 Bellaire Blvd.

On Aug. 12, a bundle of straw mulch was stolen from the Bellaire Public Works Dept.

These burglaries of motor vehicles incidents are under investigation:

On Aug. 15, a purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 7100 block of Newcastle. An unknown suspect broke out the passenger side front window and stole the purse.

On Aug. 17, a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire.
