The Debbie Marshall Recycling Center will be closing on Sept. 30 because of the success of Bellaire’s curbside recycling program.
The city started a curbside recycling program in 2006 and has expanded that program to include glass, paper, cardboard, metal, plastic and thin plastic.
The Works Department picks up curbside recycling every Wednesday from all residents that place a recycling bin at the curb by 8 a.m.
For those who wish want to take recyclables to a recycling center, visit the West University RecyclExpress at 5004 Dincans. It is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
